v Members of the board and their brief back ground
The Philanthropists of Mailam Subramaniya Swamy Educatinal Trust hence have chosen Mailam to render educational service to he welfare of the rural society through technical education.
The
college provides an atmosphere of intellectual vigor and moral rectitude. The
college houses a central library, where around 17,242 volumes of books and 107
journals and magazines are available. The training and placement cell keeps a close contacts with various industries which need the
highly qualified technical manpower. The
cell also arranges in-plant training for the deserving students during vacation
and industrial visits.

TRUST MEMBERS
Mr. N. KESAVAN, the Founder and Chairman of the Trust, with a foresighted vision and forethought, has set up the Institution par Excellence that would grow to become one of the best colleges in Tamilnadu.
Mr. M. DHANASEKARAN, the Managing Director of the Trust, with his rich experience in the management of diverse activities has drawn a blueprint to create an excellent infrastructure in serene and conducive surroundings that would pamper students in their pursuit of knowledge and academic excellence.
Mr. S. V. SUGUMARAN is the Secretary of the Trust. He extends enough support and guidance for the cruising development of the college to attain excellence in all spheres of engineering.
Mrs. K. NALINI is the Vice Chairperson of the Trust. She, with her vast knowledge and wisdom, extends her invaluable support for the Trust in its pursuit of giving quality education to the technocrats.
Mrs. D. GEETHA is the Treasurer. She, with her extraordinary skill of handling financial affairs, assists the Trust in all its monetary matters.

Shri V. GOPALAN is one of the members of the Trust. He is an industrialist and an educationist. He, as an educationalist, leaves no effort unattempted for bringing up the college to the pinnacle of its glory.
Dr. Bh. NAGABUSHNA RAO, Professor of Anna University, Chennai, is another member of the Trust. He, with all his wide knowledge in the field of education, guides the Trust in all its endeavors.

governance
Applications are called for eligible candidates against vacant posts through advt. in the leading national and regional newspapers. After scrutiny candidates are called for interview.
Mode of selection is based on written test on general aptitude & technical. Short listed candidates should attend a technical and personal interview. The selection committee comprises of the
Director, Principal, HOD, and Experts, from the concerned branch, in the cadre of Professor/Asst. professor from reputed Engg. colleges.
Successful candidates are given the offer of appointment with AICTE scale of pay and other admissible allowances.
Promotions and increments are based on the service performance of the candidates, with the required qualification and experience.
Candidates delivering exceptional performance will be given due consideration and incentives will be given in various levels.
Students feedback on institutional governance / faculty performance
Every class shall have a class committee consisting of teachers of the concerned class, student representatives and a chairperson who is not teaching the class. It is like the ‘Quality Circle’ (more commonly used in industries) with the overall goal of improving the teaching-learning process. The functions of the class committee include
1. Solving problems experienced by students in the classroom and in the laboratories.
2. Clarifying the regulations of the degree programme and the details of rules therein.
3. Informing the student representatives the academic schedule including the dates of assessments and the syllabus coverage for each assessment.
4. Informing the student representatives the details of Regulations regarding weight age for each assessment. In the class of practical courses (laboratory / drawing / project work / seminar etc.) the breakup of marks for each experiment / exercise / module of work, should be clearly discussed in the class committee meeting and informed to the students.
5. Analyzing the performance of the students of the class after each test and finishing the ways and means of solving problems, if any.
6. Identifying the weak students, if any, and requesting the teachers concerned to provide some additional help or guidance or coaching to such weak students.
The class committee for a class under a particular branch is normally constituted by the head of the deportment. However, if the students of different branches are mixed in a class (like the first semester which is generally common to all branches), the class committee is to constitute by the principal.
The class committee shall be constituted on the first working day of any semester or earlier.
At least 4 student’s representatives (usually 2 boys and 2 girls) shall be included in the class committee.
The chairperson of the class committee may invite the Faculty advisor(s) and the Head of the department to the meeting of the class committee.
The principal may participate in any class committee of the institution.
The chairperson is required to prepare the minutes of every meeting, submit the same to principal within two days of the meeting and arrange to circulate among the concerned students and teachers. If there at are some points in the minutes requiring action by the management, the same shall be brought to the notice of the management by the head of the institution.
The first meeting of the class committee of the class committee shall be held within one week from the date of commencement of the semester, in order to inform the students about the nature and weight age of assessments within the framework of the Regulations. Two of three subsequent meetings may be held in a semester at suitable intervals. During these meetings the student members representing the entire class, shall meaningfully interact and express the opinions and suggestions of the other students of the class to improve the effectiveness of the teaching-learning process.
Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students
The Grievance committee takes care of the Grievances of the Faculty and Staff of the College
Role and Responsibilities of Students Welfare & Discipline Committee:
· This Committee should take care of the welfare of the Students.
· Students grievance are to be attended with utmost care immediately
· Should maintain discipline among the students inside the campus (including Hostel and Bus).
· Should see that students are neatly attired, with shoes and identity card inside the campus.
· Any act of indiscipline has to be seriously dealt with stringent action has to be taken by the committee, with the
concurrence of the Principal.
· The members should go round the Department and see that students attend the class / Lab sincerely.
· If any student is found to be inattentive / playful inside the class, they can be called for necessary advice on the spot
itself.
· They should visit the Hostel everyday.
· The committee should report to the Principal about the day-to-day matters with respect to discipline and grievance
every day.
Role and Responsibilities of Faculty Development Committee:
· This committee should Device strategies for the development of the faculty.
· Organize programs to improve the teaching ability of the fresh faculty.
· Inform the faculty members about the forth-coming program hosted by various institutions (AICTE – ISTE – STTP, FDP, Conference – Call for papers, Seminars, Workshop etc.,) and encourage / guide them to attend such program to
enrich their knowledge.
· Collect the copy of course material and forward it to Library.
· Suggest / Recommend latest study materials for faculty to update their knowledge.
· Submit a detailed report about the programs attended by each faculty and programs organized for the faculty, to the
Principal, at the end of every semester.
Role and Responsibilities of Proctor Committee:
· Should see that monthly reports are dispatched on the date of staff meeting, to all pass students only.
· For other, who failed in monthly test and whose attendance is less than 90%, parents are to be called within 3 days
of dispatch of report and should be informed of their wards poor performance.
· Should counsel the students for best performance.
· Should record the meeting with parents in proctor card.
Role and Responsibilities of Women Welfare Committee:
· Should take care of the welfare of the women students & staff.
· Should attend to the grievance of the women and should take necessary action.
