The Department of Mechanical Engineering takes a great pride in turning out successful technocrats who can tender their best service with boundless competence and untiring dynamism. The Department was awarded with third rank for the best infrastructure facilities available among 225 self-financing colleges by the Anna university verification committee for the year 2008. The course has an updated curriculum which is suitably framed to meet the latest innovation and demands of the industry. Students are imparted with subjects like Design, Production, Thermal, CAD, CAM, CIM, Microprocessor and Computer Programming, etc which turn them to be compatible with all types of industries. Weekly seminars on thrust areas, group discussions and communication skills supplement the regular class works. It has well-furnished Laboratories according to the requirement of the syllabus framed by the Anna University, Chennai.
